When you are registering for your CPH number, please mark your application as URGENT, and if you have not received it back, please phone DEFRA Rural Services on 03000 200 301 after 48 hours to chase it up, otherwise it may take up to 10 working days.

  • A: We will be welcoming all Psittaciformes (parrots, budgies, parakeets, macaws and cockatoos) provided it is registered with APHA, in good health, and not from a restricted area. Other bird types including finches and canaries are not permitted.

  • A: We are operating within the guidelines published by DEFRA on 15/05/2025 updated 28/01/2026 including mandatory bird registration, visual checks, providing information and biosecurity.

  • A: For safety reasons, birds must be harnessed or caged inside the building. Free flying will be permitted outdoors except during any organised show times.

  • A: We have been told that it can take up to 10 days to obtain a registration number. You should mark your registration as URGENT and you can telephone them on 03000 200 301 if you have not had your registration number within 48 hours. You only need to provide basic contact information and tell them how many birds you are keeping at which address.

  • A: Our registration form only takes a few minutes to complete. You will be asked to sign a copy of it when you arrive at Think Parrots.

  • A: Your bird will not be allowed in to Think Parrots without a APHA registration (CPH number).

  • A: Your bird will not be allowed in to Think Parrots if it appears sick or unwell. We can provide an isolation room, and you can talk an Avian vet who may be able to assist or advise.

  • A: There are a number of Avian Vets attending the show who you can ask for assistance. We will be providing an isolation room to be used to keep ill birds away from others.
